Suspension of certain Foreign Student Program Application

As per the recent news concerning the Canada Student Visa, Quebec’s Minister of Immigration has decided on student program applications as per the public interest. The decision concerns the reception and processing of specific Quebec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) applications for temporary selection for studies.

With this decision, the Ministry is temporarily suspending the applications from students going to the (10) Designated Learning Institutions (DLIs) that are under audit by the Ministère de l’Enseignement supérieur (MES) starting December 30. Below are the institutions:

  • M College of Canada
  • Matrix College of Management, Technology and Healthcare
  • Canada College inc.
  • Herzing College (Institute)
  • CDE College
  • Montréal College of Information Technology
  • Institut supérieur d’informatique (ISI)
  • Universel College – Gatineau Campus
  • Collège CDI
  • Montréal Campus of Cégep de la Gaspésie et des Îles

Consequently, the application received before December 30, 2020, which is still in the process, will be suspended. The reception of new applications is also suspended as of December 30, 2020.

This suspension decision will remain in force until March 31, 2021. This particular decision will have no repercussions on international students currently studying at those institutions and who have a valid Québec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ) and Canada study permit.
